Doze of Misfortune

There are times you come across with misfortune then you find yourself tossing with anger and irritation.

Well, it goes like this. It's when you are trapped in the queue of cars making you an hour late at school or work. Another one is when you want to take a rest but your loud neighbor is making his great effort in reaching the highest note of his favorite love song late at night.

These stuffs cannot be avoided. It is as if Mr. Misfortune calls you out from somewhere and shouts, "Sorry but you're my bet for today."

So how are you going to deal with it?

Well, at first you get mad. That's normal. Who will not get mad when you dropped your phone from the bus and you recognized you lost it when you got home? It is okay that you gnashed your teeth and roar like a tiger because of madness. But the first thing you need to do is to be calm. It can help decrease the bad vibes you have in your nerves.

Next, compliment yourself. You are still fortunate. You have a loud neighborhood, but you live in a spacious house with lots of food in the refrigerator. If you find yourself more good-looking than you're enemy, that'a another good point! :)

But don't forget to make a move to solve a problem. If it's necessary for you to do the action first, go. Talk to that neighbor and tell them that it's late at night for them to sing loud on a nice way. If they yells you back, "just move! We were the first one who get here!" leave it to the officials in your community.

If you don't want to be on headlines the next morning, call a friend. Express the contorted hate and fury stocked in your throat last night. You're friend won't leave you alone if you treat him after.

Misfortune is quite terrible. Sometimes it's like a crucifixion in the darkest day of your life. But if you would just worry about it, it would not leave you. bury your worries. Bend your head upward and look at the blue sky. If you can't handle everything, leave it to God.

Homework

This is a homework. Just asked to give a comparison between two countries. :)

If Filipinos are known for being visitors friendly or being hospitable, Koreans are known for their high value of respect. One should speak to elders or known members of the society (By the way, Filipinos do the same, too.) through the use of formal language. Even if you are talking to someone who is a year older than you, you must talk to him politely.

When it comes to time, sadly to say, Filipinos have negative treatment with time. In Filipino time, 9:00 it becomes 10:00 or ahead. In Korea, they use the military time. If they ask you to come at 9:00, you should be there at exactly 9:00 or few minutes before you meet. And one more thing, they hate being late. They believe that time is something that should be used wisely, because once it's gone. It will never go back. Well that's really true.

Being loud is a no-no for Koreans. They easily get annoyed when you one is loud. They might think that you feel superior and you are degrade the one you're talking with or the people around you. They don't really like loud people, but when they get mad and make a scene, you would cover your ears with your hands.

When Filipinos see Korean tourists, especially men, they think that these guys are gays. But they really not. Well, can't blame them for thinking so. Koreans, whether boys or girls, are touchy. They are just like that. For them, that's normal. That's their way of treating their close friends. They do that with no malice.

Koreans are also dedicated with their work. When they say it, do it. When they want something, they would do everything no matter what happen. They have this extra confidence and working power that is beyond what you are thinking. There's no doubt that they are now one of the fastest developing country in the East.

On the other hand, Filipinos are flexible people. They can deal with different types of people from different parts of the world. They are the type of people that can easily to get along with and can easily learn and speak many languages. Whatever environment is around, they can adapt well. They know what real patience is. As long as they have patience, they can give it. But just like any other people in this world, they have their limits, too.
